In the News: Former The Simpsons Composer Sues Twentieth Century Fox Television

by | Aug 8, 2019 | Discrimination

Alf Clausen — the former veteran music composer for The Simpsons — has filed a lawsuit for age and disability discrimination against Twentieth Century Fox Film and The Walt Disney Company. Clausen, who is 78 years old, started working for Twentieth Century Fox Television in approximately November 1999 until his termination in August 2017. Clausen’s essential job duties consisted of composing original music and conducting music for episodes of The Simpsons. At the time of his termination, Clausen was told that he was being terminated because The Simpsons was taking the music in a different direction. However, Clausen believes that the real reasons for his termination are his age and disability. Read the full court complaint here.
